MELANOTAN

MT1 and MT2 can refer to two different sets of peptides: melatonin receptors and Melanotan tanning peptides. Melatonin MT1 and MT2 receptors differ in their functions related to sleep and circadian rhythms, with MT1 playing a larger role in REM sleep and MT2 in NREM sleep. Melanotan I and II peptides differ in their specificity for tanning receptors; MT1 is more specific, while MTII is less selective and can cause more side effects because it also acts on other receptors.
